February 02, 2010 Feeling the Pull
I once heard the story of a boy flying his kite on a cloudy, windy day. The kite went up higher and higher until it disappeared into the clouds. A passerby saw the boy pulling on the kite string and looked up into the sky, but couldn’t see the kite. He jokingly asked the boy, “How do you know that the kite’s up there?” The boy responded, “I can feel the pull!”
And that’s the way it is for those of us whose loved ones or friends have gone on ahead to heaven. We “feel the pull” of heaven. We may not be able to see them now, but it’s like that kite string. When we are trusting in Jesus as our Savior, we can sense the upward pull that lets us know that they are there. We are filled with great anticipation of one day being reunited with them when God takes us home.
