There’s an old saying, “The young talk about the future and the old talk about the past,” because we all talk about whatever we have the most of. When you’re ten years old it seems like you’ll live forever. But when you’re ninety, you know that you’ve already experienced most of your life. It’s a difference of perspective.
God’s situation is completely different from ours. God is neither young nor old and he’s not bound to time as we are. Imagine what it would be like to be able to make decisions without having to take time into consideration. You just decide to do what you want, when you want, and don’t worry about the timing. That’s a major difference between God and us. The Bible says, “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.”
Time may be a limited commodity for us, but not for God. Everything he does is at the right time.
