Historians report relatively few years when nations have not been at war with each other. War has been going on almost continuously throughout history. To this day we have wars and conflicts in many parts of the world.
But most of us don’t give as much thought to conflicts across the globe as we do to our own personal struggles. We have conflicts at work and at home and in our marriages. The one sure antidote to these conflicts is the baby born at Christmas who is called the Prince of Peace.
Jesus has a completely different approach to the peace process from that of the world. The human way is to change the circumstances on the outside, hoping that will bring peace on the inside. But Jesus, the Prince of Peace, brings peace on the inside that’s independent of the conflict on the outside.
