Why?

Why does faith matter?  Why is faith important? Because it is through faith that God has chosen to restore our relationship with him and grant us eternal life.  Faith in Jesus Christ.  Faith that he can do what he claimed. Faith that he will forgive us if we only ask.  And faith to ask.

If you are unsure if you are a Christian or are ready to begin a relationship with Jesus as your Lord and Savior, now is the time to make that commitment. All it takes is a simple prayer to begin that relationship:

Dear God,
I admit that I am a sinner and I understand that my sin separates me from you. I believe that Jesus, being God, paid the penalty for all my sins when He died on the cross and rose from the dead. I want to place my trust in Him as my Savior. Thank you for loving and forgiving me and giving to me the gift of eternal life.
In Jesus’ name, amen.

If you have made the decision to receive Christ and His payment for your sins and you have trusted Him alone for your salvation, then you have become a child of God through faith in Christ (John 1:12, 1 John 5:11-13).

Here are some things that will help you get to know Christ better and grow in your relationship with Him.

• Reading and studying God’s word, the Bible (1 Peter 1:23-2:3).

• Speaking to God in prayer (Proverbs 15:8, Philippians 4:6-7).

• The friendship and encouragement of other believers (1 Thessalonians 5:11) in a church where the Bible is honored and taught (Hebrews 10:25).

• Telling others about Christ (Matthew 28:19, Acts 1:8).
